  4. Ghee, or clarified butter, is a staple in Ayurvedic cooking. It is rich in butyric acid, which is beneficial for gut health. Ghee can be added to cooked vegetables or used for sautéing.

Foods to Avoid for a Healthy Gut

  1. Processed and packaged foods: Processed and packaged foods are high in preservatives, additives, and refined sugars, which can disrupt gut health. These foods are also low in nutrients and fibre.
  2. Fried foods: Fried foods are high in unhealthy fats and are challenging to digest. They can cause inflammation and digestive problems.
  3. Dairy: While dairy products like yogurt and ghee are beneficial for gut health, other dairy products like milk and cheese can be hard to digest and cause inflammation in the gut.
  4. Spicy foods: Spicy foods can irritate the digestive system and cause inflammation. It is best to avoid spicy foods if you have digestive issues.
